Our tollway opened
The toll way didn’t open on Mother’s Day so our neighbor’s sister Debbie called the mayor on his cell, he said,” ain’t going to happen today”
Dave and I went the next day and it was 23 minutes instead of 45 to Ft.Worth.
They said at 7:15am they did a fly over by the t.v. station in Fort Worth; only one car on it.
It’s $5.99 each way for a two axel.
The other road is still free if you want to stop at 27 traffic lights.

That does sound faster, but wow ~ quite pricy to use! Hopefully, it gets paid for soon!
Yikes – I’ll take my time and enjoy the stop and start of the long way to town!
I used tool roads in the Mid-West–I think it was highway 80 and ran through Ohio in part–not sure. It was long and had places to stop, buy gas and eat.
Liked your photos, Jilly. I agree, pricy, but worth it.
we really like this one but then we thought we would be too old to ride on it by the time they got through with it.
You wouldn’t be super excited if you had to pay those tolls every day!
They put in a toll highway near my uncle, but there was another highway we could take to visit him, so he advised we use that one instead. We wondered why anyone would use the toll road, but I guess maybe sometimes the other road gets congested?
Toll ways are always such clean highways.
At least you don’t have to travel on them daily, so you won’t be paying so much each time you go on it.
I am working in Pennsylvania and one of the things I notice is that on I-90 west as soon as you enter Pa from NY you are greeted by a beautiful welcome center with large clean restrooms, nice picnic tables and a travel center and as soon as you enter NY heading east you are greeted by toll booths and state troopers hiding behind the bushes
$5.99! Hard to believe many people would go tha way.
