Our toll way is fixing to open on the 11th of May.

My son and dil got us our tags and the bill will go each month to them.

It stretches from our little country town to Ft.Worth.

It is going to be $5.99 one way but I don' t know how people will be able to afford it if they work there.

We just go to the kid's to visit.     Hubby says, "I'm going to go as fast as I want to; I 'm paying for it."

  • Sounds nice, Jilly. I think the price is steep for working people who need to travel to work. I guess if you could sell your car and only use it and local transportation it would me OK. lol

I had an Accounting professor tell the class once that it was cheaper taking a taxi, bus, train, and planes everywhere compared to owning a car. lol

  • it was nice for your son to get your toll tags for you....seems a bit pricey though, what is the speed limit on toll roads?

  • I love our toll road -- it cuts off 17 miles of heavy traffic -- it's heavy for an hour one way in the am and the other was in the pm, and light the rest of the day.

  • Wow, bill each month? It might expect a small yearly fee. Geez, people are out to get you and your money every which way these days, even while no one can afford it. :-(

  • California wants to put in toll roads but it is not going over well with the California people. We have fast track lanes and High Occupancy Vehicle lanes which allows traffic to flow faster.

  • I try to avoid the toll roads whenever possible. They leased ours to an international consortium and the road has gone to pot(holes).

  • toll roads are so annoying, but they do save time, I guess ~

  • When children do this kind act and are so gracious to their parents, then life is so full of blessings.

  • $5.99 does seem too much.

  • May 11 is Margaret's birthday, And Mother's Day. Tom buys an I pass each year for when he has to drive to Chicago. Saves time, and all those tolls.

    • Happy MOM day on sunday and tell Margaret happy birthday. I think she's my baby sister's age.
Hope your Tom is doing well. Will he still be able to drive so far? I just got the ok to drive with my right foot two weeks ago but I'm not driving far but just the 15 miles to the antique mall and back.
I can wear my Crocks with socks now.
You wrote that Tom gets an I Pass.
