Month: March 2014

  • Books I've read for my bookclub

    002

Last month it was The Color of Water by James McBride.  The mother was white and the dad was black.  James is one of 12 kids and asked his mother, "What color is God."  I believe it took place in the 60's.

The book this month is Nothing Daunted by Doroty Wickenden about two society girls in the west who are teachers in Colorado. It kind of reminded me of this photo I took at the antique mall. It is interesting cause the frontier life is so behind what the gals were used to.

I enjoyed both of them and when we have our book club we have a lively conversation every third Thursday night of the month.

  • Did you say Catcher

Sister went to a baby shower over the weekend for her husband's niece.

The theme was a little cowboy and his name will be Catcher.

My hubby said that these young people want something different but the poor kid has to live with the name.

  • What day is it? Ash wed.

    025012 (2)

I took this photo last Friday and since then it dropped down in the teens.

Tuesday, we stayed with the 16 month old Reid since he was ill.  No phone call for help today.

Went to the Pancake dinner last night at the church.

Wish we had an Ashes to Go. I will have to ask Father Chris cause who wants to stay till the end of mass? I know I'm a little devil but I'm not the only one.

  • Elsie and Mr.Elsie

    006

Elsie doesn't have her horns and I didn't know there was a Mr. in her life.

I know the Jersey cows have horns even if they are female.

I'm not possible they are the real Borden cows.

  • Longhorns

    005 006

Well, the longhorns were out and about where I could snap their photo but they weren't interested in me since they just ate.
