3 down and 2 to go
This is Maggy Mae my cowdog, blue heeler, Aussie, herding dog. She lives behind a fence. She is high strung.
It started with the doggy door; she wanted everyone to line up and go out quietly; when they didn't, she would grab a dog by the neck and shake it like a rag doll.
The other dogs who live in the house are scared to death of her so she has to live in a dog pen or in the yard by herself.
She would be best herding cows or sheep not a bunch of lazy dogs.

hahaha -- I love the image of Maggy Mae herding the others out the doggie door! But that's what herding dogs do -- one of my neighbors had a sheep dog that would herd him when he took the dog for a walk!
Yes the herding instinct is strong. My dear Ranger (when he could see) would try to herd the birds -a futile exercise.
Maggie Mae may be a herder but she sure is a beautiful one.
sounds like a force to be reckoned with ~
So Maggie Mae is the Alpha Dog...I wonder if you have anyone in the area that would let her herd some sheeps or something.
High strung because she has no sheep to herd.
I need some of those barriers for my grandniece Leah. It would take her a week to figure out a way past them.
My mom's corgi is a herding dog, and he loves to run in circles and chase people and be chased. You run after him and he just runs in circles for ages - never in a straight line. If you get him to run straight, he dodges and weaves all over. My mom actually got him from a woman who teaches dogs herding - my uncle and his dogs take lessons with her sheep.
All three of these dogs are important and unique in their contributions to the family. I'm looking forward to the meeting the others!
Hope you are feeling well, Jilly. ♥
Any sheep farms near you?
How old is she?
We used to have a doggy gate. but Rusty only sleeps all day. lol
