Books I've read for my bookclub
Last month it was The Color of Water by James McBride. The mother was white and the dad was black. James is one of 12 kids and asked his mother, "What color is God." I believe it took place in the 60's.
The book this month is Nothing Daunted by Doroty Wickenden about two society girls in the west who are teachers in Colorado. It kind of reminded me of this photo I took at the antique mall. It is interesting cause the frontier life is so behind what the gals were used to.
I enjoyed both of them and when we have our book club we have a lively conversation every third Thursday night of the month.

I wish I had a book club.. the only ones around here meet during the day and are filled with stay at home moms or retirees. Someday...
LOL nothing wrong with retirees or stay at home mom's but we meet at 6:30pm on Thursday night.
Most of the time it's retirees and stay at home mom's who enjoy getting out and talking with other adults but we talk about everything else, too. Even the librarian gets off the subject and I usually try to get it back on the book.
I've always been like that; we can talk about t.v. shows after the class in the parking lot.
a book club sure sounds fun ~
we don't have a book club either...do you all read the same books?
Good for you. You are reading. I am not.
Books are wonderful! I love to read (and I loved teaching kids how to read)! Book clubs sound fun, though I've never been to one. Those two books you mentioned both sound good.
I love the style of that blouse, and the lamp next to it... beautiful!
I've read both those books several years ago, though not in our book club. I too enjoy my book club A LOT! However, unlike you, we do not meet from January to March because many of the reads become snow birds and fly away South to Florida or Texas or Arizona. I bet you go all year long. Lucky you.
