  • Old washer

IMG_3299 I'm acting like I'm washing my jacket in the old washer.

Lisa doesn't like her photo to be taken so I couldn't talk IMG_3301her into doing anything silly this time.

  • My parents used to have an old wringer type washer like that once. You are a fun person to be with, Jill. :-)

  • My grandmother's was a funky salmon color - and round instead of square... I was fascinate by the wringer - dangerous and messy but to a 5 yr old it was as good as TV!

  • Sometime I will need to do a blog on my memories of our washer... ours was white and round.

  • My mother used one of those and was always worried her hair on clothing would get caught in the ringer. She heard hat someone got killed that way, so those things scared me as a kid.

You and Lisa photograph well. Too bad she is camera shy.

    • she thinks she's FAT LOL
I know what she means cause I gained 8 lbs over Christmas and I need to lose wt.,too.
Yes, granny had her washer in the garage and scared me,too. She was so worried about me putting my hand in the wringer.

  • You always post such good photos of old things. The painting (?print) of the dahlias on the wall, is very fetching.

  • I remember the missionaries in Haiti using a wringer washer to wash our clothes. I also remember the time when mom used one. Now I wish she would have kept it! :-) I used to love putting things through the ringer. I guess it wouldn't be safe today. Bleh. I learned a lot while wringing clothes. :D
PS - I don't like myself in pictures either.

    • I like to get my photo taken cause I know before long I will look back and say,"look how young and cute I am." plus I keep tract of the years as they go by through photos; otherwise I would say,"where did 2014 go?

  • OK, couldn't find the edit button to change the spelling on wringer. I spelled it wronger! :P

  • I remember using a similar washing machine.

  • My mother had one that was round and white with a wringer. It took some convincing to get her to use the new washer and dryer without the wringer but she soon caved in.
