Puppy for Christmas
Once I put a bow on Sophie and took her to see Mrs. Palmer at the nursing home when my hubby was out of town on Christmas Eve and told her I brought her a present.
She kept saying,"oh, I couldn't keep her." Well, as we sat and talked Sophie feel asleep on her lap. I did take her home with me but it was nice to be with someone you love on Christmas Eve.

You did a kind thing - so many people in the nursing homes miss their pets...
she would have liked a cat better. She was my mom's neighbor and they would feed all the stray cats and I said,"what did ya'all tell us kids when we feed a stray animal?" that they would never leave now.
Oh, I like this.
she was a blessing to me and when she died she was almost 97yrs old. I didn't know when I told promised her I would visit the nursing home when she was 92yrs old that she would live 5 yrs but she showed me that you can be a blessing to the world no matter your age.
Hi Jilly, nice story.
When I was in the hospital 3 weeks and almost died 5 times, someone brought in a dog, put it on my bead and let me pet it. I was contrived, but I loved it and them.
I would take her to the nursing home all the time but she was too skiddish with all the people around. She knew Mrs.Palmer from mom's house but not all the other people. Dogs are like people they like to be introduced one person at a time.
