Our lab Kathie came to us back in 2006 one and half years old.
We had her for two weeks before we left her alone at home; we came home to a shredded dog bed. She was sitting in the middle of the fluff with an anxious look on her face.
Now she will wait for us and that only happened the one time.

Awww... I can just imagine the look on her face that first time. Bless her heart. I'm sure the bacon treat is greeted with wagging tails & lots of energy. Beautiful dog.
We thought maybe there was a problem when the lady asked if we worked cause the other homes couldn't handle her. We have a doggie door and they can come in and out as they please. All our dogs are spoiled but then they're good dogs.
thanks for understanding cause it is a disorder and if you're punishing it makes it worse I'm sure.
Wad our dog Trent was the same way. He was a rescue dog and was labeled, "destructive chewer, anxiety." He used to chew every time he was alone. Cell phones, tv remotes, pillows, miniblinds, anything. But he grew out of it, thank goodness. What a happy dog she looks like, and her sister (brother?) on the bed, too.
that is the basset on the ottoman and hubby chair. She thinks it's her chair. LOL
She is a wonderful dog and very sweet.
I'm glad you gave her the home she deserves! She was probably just testing you. You passed and she knew she had a forever home!
yes, I'm sure being a year and a half old and the two other homes were normal people but got made cause they had to work and kids had to go to school and got mad at her.
Dogs are full of love and surprises.
Dave wants a puppy-he's got puppy fever again! LOL
She's beautiful! What sweet eyes. We had a Lab mix, who was a once-in-a-lifetime friend. We now have a feisty Springer Spaniel, who is a wonderful walking companion and a great guard dog, lol. How many dogs do you have?
5 dogs. Hubby and I like dogs but we have to limit ourselves cause it's expensive with heartworm pills and shots.
She looks like a brave dog.
Love

oui
puppies love to shred their beds.
she just did it once and never chewed up anything again and I think because we told her that it was ok cause she was just scared and we weren't punishing but just acted as if she didn't do anything wrong. We go out to breakfast together and give all the dogs a piece of bacon when we return and we just acted normal.
Aw! That's so precious!
she's a wonderful dog.
we have labs too...the worse thing they ever chewed up was the sofa =/
a couch is a big thing. LOL
She is a beautiful dog and is lucky to have a wonderful home with you.
she has a happy loving personality and fits just right into our family
Kathie is beautiful! I love labs! I've had several labs in my life...best dogs!
Maybe she just wanted a different bed!
