IKea store
Here in the country the closest Ikea store is an hour and half away in Frisco,Texas so if I find anything "Ikea" I'm excited.
I got this napkin holder at a thrift store; kitchen tins, coffee cups and wall art at garage sales in town.
I even have small lamp in my bathroom that I got at the antique mall by trading with another dealer.

We have a giant Ikea in Round Rock, and I've never been in it. For some reason, my husband is dead set against it!
if one was closer I would go at least once since I've heard to much about it.
Why is your hubby dead set against it?
do things fall on your head like at Home Depot and it's not safe? jill
HI Jilly and Good Morning. I fell clumsy trying to find you. lol
Never heard of Ikea.
Have a beautiful weekend in Texas.
frank
well, you found me so that I good!
hey, you have a good weekend, too.
Ikea is a home shop with furnisher, too. It's the kind you get in a box at your house and you have to put it together. Cheap and modern stuff.
My cousin's new kitchen (cabinets and countertop is all Ikea..
I told Frank it's cheap stuff but compared to what? LOL it's sleek and modern stuff that you put together and did she have to?
I have never been to Ikea but I know folks love it! That is a sweet napkin holder!
I would like to go at least once. I haven't been to Home Goods but we've chipped in and gotten gift cards before. The nearest Pier ONe is about 30miles away and the Home Goods is about 45miles away
good finds Jilly! the nearest IKEA to us is about 75 miles away.
about the same to me ,too.
Wow! Great finds! The nearest IKEA to me is more than a 3 hour drive! So unless I'm "down there" for other reasons, I just don't go to go to IKEA.
That napkin holder is pretty!
HUGS!!!
everything I've found at garage sales and thrift stores is really cute. The same with Pier One. Why pay $40 for a pillow when I can find one at the thrift store for $3.
Dear Jill,
I smiled when I read this. There's asn right down the street, figuratively, in Carson. When I worked for FedMart stores in the late 70s, they began a knock down furniture chain called Furniture to Go. I managed the Torrance store's warehouse and drove the delivery truck. In those days nobody wanted to buy furniture in boxes and put it together, so the stores went out of business within a year.
Ikea and Stor, both Scandinavian chains, opened up in the 80s, and Ikea became a success.
The curio cabinets where I display my Betty Boop dolls and figurines are from Ikea.

I remember Carson back in the 60's there wasn't much there.
No, I don't want to put things together either.
Seems like if you get stuff from Wallyworld and Target you have to put the shelves together, too.
